Silver Dawn

I awoke to a silver dawn
Shining across the water to the island far away
Like a mirror the sea reflected the silver clouds
Edge to edge with eternity
Sailing on for ever

Clouds carry our dreams to shores unseen
To be written on pages of woven sheen
Traced throughout with threads of gold
Showing our souls grow and unfold
Sailing on for ever

And we can read it any time
When sleep releases our troubled minds
Believe our dreams can never die
Our highest thoughts can always fly
They sail on for ever

The Arrow Points Ahead

I had more than half, a lifetime lived
When one day, my youth confronted me
He looked at me, with eyes of love
He beckoned me, with his tender heart
Come, come with me
Into the memories, of yesterday
And dance with me, into the past

But the past is gone, my future said
It cannot be re-lived
There is more to learn, more to live
The arrow points ahead
Make every future, sunray shine
Soak up each tender moment
And set our love a flight
To fill the universe
With fresh hope and love
For those, still to tread
This precious earth!
