To the candle upon the mantle

As the wick burns down and meets the end of our light ,

Flickering to the breeze as you walk into the room ,

Meeting with a warm smile as you come toward me,

Smiles shared in tenderness ,

As the candle burns to the end,

Ravaging the light it brings,

Showing the love we shared

Held to its tempest till the light burns out ,

The flame dies,

Sweet tenderness by the light of a candle,

To each others side in darkness ,

Holding what we have in sweet tenderness

We lie beside each other when the light burns out,

With caressing hearts,

We held to the candle to the moments ,

That was the light. and flame by our side ,

The tender night we were together,

The candle burned out to our side,

With words whispered in passion,

A night spent with love for each other,

In dreams we laid there wondering the night away,

Dreaming of are future, are love and plans,

Talking are night away ,till the night turned too day,

In sweet dreams of tomorrow,

Are future by the candle, as the candle burns away,

Sweetness shared in a moment so tender ,

The candle burned away again and again ,

For what we had as we aged together ,

In memories of what we had,

By the light of the flame, that still  held

to the nights,



Sweetness shared to a moment,

The candle finally burning out,

We finally seeing our own way,
